After five years and one particularly long semester, I’m finally a University graduate. I had hinted earlier that I’d love a nice watch as a graduation present, primarily because I always have my head in the clouds and can’t tell what damn day it is. Today I received the frame for my degree in the mail and my parents surprised me with this beautiful watch: Continue reading “Graduation”
So today I was talking to my cousin on the phone about applying to University and I checked my application to Glendon for International Studies. I’ve been accepted, so that’s great. Unfortunately I applied to start that degree this summer, which may be ruined because of this stupid eleven week strike. I don’t know how many of you have read this: Continue reading “Acceptance and strikes”
I got a new sword to add to my little collection. This one is from a new place called “Blades 4 You” [His website is crappy, here is the address] that I found around Mississauga Road & Lakeshore – much, much closer than Reliks in London. The place is small but well stocked and the guy threw in a wall plaque and dropped the price with pretty much no haggling. He probably wanted to gain a regular customer (success!). It’s a Knights Templar sword, normally $125 at Reliks (his price in store – $99), which he sold for $80. The plaque doesn’t come with screws so I have to go pick some up tomorrow (at his price I’m not complaining). Here are some pictures, I’ll add more once it’s mounted on the wall (I plan to put it at the bottom of the stairs, beside the dark bookshelf): Continue reading “Knights Templar”
I was recently sorting through some of my books, reorganizing my shelves a bit. Out from between the pages of The Complete Sherlock Holmes fell this 11.5 year old receipt from over 7,000km away. I found it amusing to know that on June 21st, 1997 I spent 68 cents on a Three Musketeers chocolate bar at 2070 Kalakaua Avenue, Honolulu. Meanwhile I cannot even remember where I left the book I was reading a half hour ago. Continue reading “Old receipt”
