Repairs complete

Tag: Site DevelopmentNicholas Guindon @ 1:13 pm

Hey everyone,

The crossposter has been fixed (an update compatible with 2.5 was released) and I have installed a Wordbook plugin/application since Facebook is apparently too incompetent to import from an RSS Feed. Try focusing on getting useful technical features working instead of opening the floodgates on stupid garbage, guys.

New shelves

Tag: GeneralNicholas Guindon @ 10:20 pm

Hey everyone,

Today the bookcases and window blinds arrived, completing the basement. I’m going to get some sort of cabinet for the bathroom, but that’s a “when I feel like it” project. One of the poles for the blinds will be shipped later (I guess they only had two in stock?), so I have one uncovered window left. They’re simple frilly things, good for privacy without blocking sunlight. The bedroom one is a little darker. Continue reading “New shelves”

Internal Server Error Fixed

Tag: Rants, Site DevelopmentNicholas Guindon @ 1:37 pm

Hey everyone,

I forgot to mention that the 500 - Internal Server Error which occasionally came up appears to be fixed. Please let me know if you see it again. As for Facebook’s note importing from my RSS feed… I have no clue why it’s so unreliable. I’ve confirmed that the problem isn’t on my end. The feed can be seen by anyone, anywhere and updates very quickly (take a look). Continue reading “Internal Server Error Fixed”

Phil 4150

Tag: UniversityNicholas Guindon @ 11:39 am

Hey everyone,

So I’m sitting in class waiting for the second day of Phil 4150: Professional Ethics. I was pleased to learn it will be taught by David Stamos, who is somewhat similar to Dan MacArthur. They’re both no-nonsense, science oriented Professors who appreciate sound logic, reason and the generous application of established facts. I haven’t been taught by Stamos since the ineptly titled Phil 1100: The Meaning of Life a few years ago (Spoiler alert: 42*). The book is an outrageous $95 for a cheaply bound softcover anthology - the first time I’ve felt genuinely ripped off, rather than just mildly taken advantage of. For a hundred bucks I expect a nice hardcover textbook I can be proud to have on my shelf, damn it. Continue reading “Phil 4150″

Progress

Tag: GeneralNicholas Guindon @ 8:13 pm

Hey everyone,

My sister came over for a visit today and we moved my TV stand downstairs. Now I’m just waiting for the two shelves to be shipped here (hopefully tomorrow) and I’ll be able to unpack the last boxes - all books. I also made some changes to the layout. Continue reading “Progress”
