Hey everyone,
On Tuesday in Phil 3175: Philosophy of Natural Science we discussed the concept of good vs. bad reasoning. Specifically it revolved around Logical Positivism and Sir Karl Popper’s improvement thereof. Continue reading “Modus Tollens”

Hey everyone,
So on tuesday I went to Phil 3175: Philosophy and Natural Science for the first time (I updated the course info). The course seems quite promising so far, the professor (Dan McArthur) is, as with all the others, easy to understand. He’s quite enthusiastic when he speaks, which makes a big difference. The book is a bit of a dry read so far, but I think that’s only because it’s still getting the reader prepared for the ‘meat’. Continue reading “Phil 3175″
Hey everyone,
Today is tuesday, meaning I’ll be going to Phil 3175: Philosophy and Natural Science for the first time at 4:30. I already went to Phil 3750: Foundations of Artificial Intelligence which was very interesting today.
We were talking about different types of agents (assume, simplistically, that an agent is merely something which performs actions). The most basic is a simple reflex agent. This type of agent is capable of only the most rudimentary action deciding: it examines the configuration of the location where it is at the moment through whatever inputs it has and, based on the configuration, selects an action. Hey everyone,
I’ve posted loads of pictures to the gallery. There are pictures of York campus, my cruise and my pets (Groups, Baileys, Charlie and past pets Sylvester and Nala). I went through every picture I have and removed the crummy ones, leaving me with 572 pictures.
It was particularly fun to go through the pictures of Baileys, since he’s been with us long enough to really see him age through the pictures. He noticeably goes from a tiny fuzzball to a lanky teen to his current pudgy self. Charlie is still young, but there is some aging visible (his fur is darker now).
