Hey everyone,
I’m sitting on the couch at our hotel room. Tomorrow not much happens, then the day after the movers bring all our furniture from the old house to the new one. The big marble table is always a nightmare to move, but the guys came over, measured it and built a crate for it very quickly and painlessly. When I was a kid I played under that table a lot, and have a couple of nasty bruises from the learning-to-walk years (I have a suspicion it’s responsible for my musical and sports talent, or lack thereof). My nephew has at least one bad one. We actually moved a great deal of stuff ourselves. Between the van and the car we rented we’ve managed to bring a ton of small objects, as well as the kitchen table, some chairs, etc. Continue reading “Homewood Suites”

Hey everyone,
The title of this post refers to the model name for our new house, “Buttercup”. Manly!
Anyways the past few days have been very busy. On the fourteenth we did a final inspection of the house and got our keys. We loaded up the van and dumped a bunch of stuff off. On the fifteenth we dropped a load of stuff off and I spent the afternoon with Humberto putting up a screen in the windows. It’s cool – cuts 90% of heat, 99% of UV light and drops the a/c bill by a surprising amount. Humberto is a friend of ours, a very good handyman. The screens are a pain to put on. The process is boring to describe, but involves a lot of watered down baby shampoo in a spray bottle. On the plus side, you end up smelling nice by the time you’re done. Hey everyone,
In under three hours I’ll be writing my last exam of the year (2075), and on the 14th we take possession of the new house. Ten days after that, we move in. Sometime in late may, the basement will be finished and I’ll have moved in. Awesome!

Hey everyone,
Just a quick update. The gallery has been restored (all 1600+ images!) and there appears to be a strange problem with WordPress. Every once in a while there is an Internal Server Error (500). Unfortunately I’m currently swamped by two essays and an exam, which finishes on the 10th. After that there’s the move to the new house, which we take possession of on the 14th and move into on the 24th.
So basically no promises on when I’ll be able to figure out what’s causing the error and fix it. Sorry!
